Graduate funding

Winthrop-King Teaching Assistantships in French:
Enhanced competitive stipend and tuition waiver.

Winthrop-King Teaching Assistantships are available on a competitive basis to applicants for entry to the MA or PhD program in French. In addition to the stipend, they receive tuition waivers and health insurance support. Doctoral candidates also receive a grant for approved research or study abroad. Candidates applying for the graduate program in French are automatically considered for a Winthrop-King Teaching Assistantship.

Teaching Assistantships in all other languages
Graduate assistants normally teach two course sections per semester. Depending on the needs of each program, they may be asked to fulfill a role, such as mentor or grader, in lieu of teaching one course section. Teaching assistantships are available for up to two years for students preparing the MA and for up to five years for students pursuing a PhD. All our graduate assistantships include a tuition waiver covering 100% of tuition, as well as a subsidy for health insurance. All other university fees are the responsibility of the students. The most outstanding applicants are also considered for a Winthrop-King Enhancement for their assistantship, depending on funding availability.
