Dr. Aly is a Teaching Associate Professor of Arabic, an OPI Certified Tester in addition to NC educator’s licensed, and she was the Dean of Al-Waha 2023. Dr. Aly has PhD in Education, Masters in Arts in TAFL, BA of Archeology with Honors, BA of Educational Technology, and graduate studies in Islamic studies.

Dr. Aly worked at Johns Hopkins University, Aarhus University in Denmark, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, University of South Carolina, University of Montana, the American University in Cairo, Middlebury College, Monterey Institute, Queens University, Concordia College, UNC Greensboro, Fayetteville State University, NCvirtual, Fort Liberty Military base, and currently at Florida State University. Dr. Aly taught at the college level, the Military bases, and K-12 online schools.


Research Interests

Arabic as a Foreign Language, linguistics, Archeology, Egyptology, Islamic studies and Arab cultures.


Course taught:

  • All levels of Modern Standard Arabic, elementary, intermediate and advanced. 
  • Egyptian and Levantine dialects.
  • Media Arabic and Introduction to the Arab cultures.
